IMPORTANT TO KNOW ABOUT CLEANING
Cleaning Information
Long-Term Tenants
Cleaning of your own room or apartment is the responsibility of each resident, and you must provide your own cleaning equipment.
Common Areas
Studentinord cleans the student laundry room. However, residents are encouraged to empty the trash in the laundry room when needed. Drying racks are not permitted in common areas.
Shared Kitchens
If you live in a shared kitchen arrangement as a short-term resident, you must clean up after yourself every time you use the kitchen. Trash must be taken out before you leave. If cleaning equipment is missing, you must report this as soon as possible after moving in. This is done through the app.
Moving In
When you move in, you must inspect the housing unit carefully. If you discover major faults, damages, or other issues, you must create a report in the app. Describe the issue and attach photos if possible. This will be stored as documentation for both you as the tenant and us as the landlord. If you move into a furnished room, the bed should include a mattress topper and a mattress protector sheet.
Moving Out – Short-Term Rentals
If you are a short-term resident at Demmabakken, you will find cleaning cloths, dish towels, and mops in your unit for cleaning before leaving the housing unit. A broom, dustpan, and mop handle can be found in the common area where you live. Bed linen must be removed, and both the bed linen and towels must be placed in the rack located in the common area. Insufficient cleaning or missing inventory in the room or kitchen after the rental period ends will result in invoicing for the time spent and the actual cost of lost items.
Short-term tenants do not need to book a move-out inspection.
Internal Housing Transfer
If you are changing housing units internally, you must book a pre-inspection through the app. The inspection will take place as close to the moving date as possible, so book well in advance. Before the inspection, you must clean as thoroughly as possible. These inspections are carried out to detect and prevent the spread of pests. You will not receive access to the new housing unit until the pre-inspection has been completed.
If the inspection is approved, you will gain access to the new unit. If the cleaning is insufficient, you must arrange a move-out inspection with the inspector or through the app. This inspection will take place after you move out of the old unit. If pests such as bedbugs are discovered, measures will be taken before you are allowed to move to a new unit.
Moving Out – Long-Term Contracts
When moving out of Studentinord housing, you must book a move-out inspection. The inspection should take place as close to the move-out date as possible. Keep in mind that many residents move out during Christmas and summer, so book early. This does not apply to short-term residents.
This is done through the app.
If you leave the housing unit without completing a move-out inspection and the cleaning is not satisfactory, you will be charged for the time required for cleaning. See the price list and fees.
If your inspection is not approved and you still choose not to correct the issues, the same rules apply as for not booking an inspection.
If your inspection is approved, you may leave the housing unit with peace of mind.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Internet
All student homes have Wifi with gigabit line 1000/1000. After you have moved in you need to register at this page to get a password for your Wifi network. You will be asked to provide a MAC address, which can be found at the internet central (home gateway) inside your home.
After your registration, you will receive an SMS from our internet provider Signal with username and password - within one working day.
Please note! The text message is written in Norwegian, but look for: "Altibox####" - which is the name of your Wifi, and "passord: ****" - which is your password.
Please call Signal customer service on +47 7543 05 00 if you experience any problems. If Signal can’t help you, you can contact the Housing office.
LAUNDRY
You can do your laundry at the Student home's common laundry between 8am and 10pm.
TIP: It is a good idea to set an alarm on your phone a few minutes before your laundry is done. This way, you can avoid unnecessary queues at the washing machines. If you're there when your laundry finishes, the next user won't have to empty the machine for you, and you'll have full control over your clothes.
USE A TUMBLE DRYER
A regular laundry contains 2-3 liters of water. This means that if you hang the laundry to dry in the apartment, without venting well, this can cause mites and bacteria. We recommend using a dryer as long as it is possible.
If you have no other option than to hang the laundry inside your home, it is important that you ventilate well.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A PARTY
If you wish to invite someone to a party in a common area, you must clear this with the other residents in advance.
Show consideration and respect for others belongings, kitchen cabinets and refrigerators.
Remember that there are noise restrictions in the building after 11 p.m. on weekdays, and after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The common area must be tidied and cleaned no later than 12 noon on the following day, and don`t forget to clean the floor as well. The resident who invites people to the party is responsible for the cleaning.
